Jen grew up in NYC and began to dance at the young age of three. She saw "42nd St" on Broadway twelve times. As an adult, she fell in love with the choreography of yoga. She discovered that movement is infused with a power that transports us to the realm of joy.
In 2013 Jen became one of the first in the world to be certified in Yogastrology®, the melding of the wisdom of the ancient sister practices of yoga and astrology. By following and interpreting the energy of the placement of the Sun and the Moon, “Hatha,” literally meaning Sun (“ha”) & Moon (“tha”), one can find freedom in understanding the greater cycles at work, feel less pressure and navigate life more in flow, with greater ease. Emphasis is on body correlations of the zodiac signs and corresponding asanas as well as energetic traits associated with the sign.
Weaving together mindfulness tools with postures to ground, her yoga style centers and reenergizes in a sacred and safe environment. Her Hatha Yoga practice is restorative and tends to move at a slow to medium pace that welcomes all bodies exactly as they are. She invites her fellow practitioners on a journey to a grounded, yet blissful state that aligns with the stars.
Since her yoga teacher training in 2006, she has been teaching Hatha Yoga at Studio 206, Opal, the University of Virginia, A Place to Breathe and privately. Jen has offered workshops including Yoga/Chakra/Art Therapy for "Women in Transition," a retreat to St. John in the Virgin Islands and personally customized Yogastrology® reTreats.
Jen has taught Yogastrology® at Floyd Yoga Jam and conducted a Deep Dive Astro Talk and Water Ceremony at Shensara. Jen teaches Yogastrology® annually at the Shakti Tribe Retreat in Yogaville.
An educator, Jen has spent seventeen years teaching French to teenagers. Coaching teens was an organic extension of Jen's teaching. Her niche is one on one coaching with high school girls targeting stress reduction and anxiety navigation.
Jen offers group Teen Yogastrology® classes to provide sanctuary for young women. These girls develop their voice and share their heart in a safe space that cultivates community, sistarhood and wellness.
She also brings yoga and mindfulness into local elementary schools.
Jen coaches adults located all over the world. She assists with family dynamics, professional transition support, divorce support, stress management, and anxiety/depression.
Many clients choose to utilize Jen's knowledge of astrology to gain a deeper understanding of their superpowers, challenges, soul's path, communication style and more. Clients report feeling calm, empowered, grounded and peaceful after gaining astrological insights from Jen.
One of Jen's passions is ceremony. She offers ceremony to honor cycles including the New Moon, Full Moon, Eclipse, Equinox and Solstice. Ceremony ranges from Fire for burning and release work to Water for cleansing, clearing and purification. As a wedding officiant, Jen enjoys infusing the sacred into the vows she helps couples write and the event itself.
Writing is another one of Jen's passions. In April 2016, she published her first ebook entitled "Romancing the Retrogrades: How to Move Forward when Five Planets are Moving Backward." She also publishes a newsletter called the "Astroblast" for her clients.
Jen serves as a guide to help all beings access divinity and sanctuary.
